The integration of the two Italian airlines is a new beginning for Alitalia. Above all else, this means an improvement in the organization of the network, with 70 national and international destinations, more than 2,300 weekly flights, and six important airport hubs: Rome Fiumicino, Milan, Turin, Venice, Naples and Catania. This organizational model will ensure faster connections from the Italian provinces to Europe and the rest of the world. Furthermore, coverage will be guaranteed to the rest of the country with 23 national destinations. Alitalia further guarantees a large number of both international and intercontinental flights: with 47 destinations in Europe and around the world, along with comfortable connecting flights to national destinations. In addition, with the arrival of the new summer season, the network will be further enhanced with the successive opening of new destinations.
Another of Alitalia's strong point will be its flight times, specifically studied to satisfy the needs of their customers, this means that it will often be possible to have a same day return flight to the main national and European cities. The new national airline will be characterized by the renovation of the fleet which will now include more modern airplanes which are more environmentally friendly and ensure a better flight experience.
Sports
For the new 2008/2009 football (soccer) season, Air One has become one of the main sponsors of UC Sampdoria football club. For all "TIM Cup" and "UEFA Cup" games the team from Genoa will play wearing strips bearing the Air One logo.
This partnership with the 'Blucerchiati' confirms the national and international interest shown by the Company, and it also shows Air Ones' closeness to who lives sport as a passion and as a means of expressing healthy competition.
It is for this that Air One over the years has made collaboration partnerships with teams who commit to and believe in these values. The Company is in fact, as well as for UC Sampdoria, an "Official Carrier" of AS Roma, SSC Napoli and Juventus. The company is active also in the world of basket ball as official carrier and sponsor of Virtus Roma, with which it collaborates even outside the Palazzetto (sports arena) for the three year "Obiettivo Giovani" project which throughout the second year, has already involved over 5000 children, 300 students and numerous actively sporty people. The project aims to make people more aware of different city and regional realities in order to spread sport practise and culture, by involving schools, sport groups for young and differently abled people, by the means of events, summer camps, charity activities and fund raising, sport training courses, and courses about basket ball and its values.
