Air Berlin GmbH & Co. Luftverkehrs KG, which grew out of Air Berlin Inc., an airline founded in 1978, started to operate flights in 1992 with two Boeing jets and 150 employees. By 2003 the company had already become the second largest airline in Germany. Today its fleet extends to 128 aircraft flying to more than 120 destinations within Germany, Europe and throughout the world.

Web Check-in:
Checking in online is easy and convenient – and you can check in from up to 30 hours and no later than 2 hours before departure from your own computer. This service is available for all bookings with a valid e-ticket (paperless ticket), irrespective of whether the flight was booked online, via a travel agency or airberlin’s Service Centre. Once you have entered your booking reference number and your surname you can select a seat and print out the boarding passes for yourself and up to nine persons travelling with you
MMS Check-in:
The airberlin MMS Check-in allows you to manage your entire check-in process quickly and easily by mobile. You will need to have an MMS-capable mobile phone, as well as a German or Austrian mobile network. We will send your boarding pass – in the form of a barcode – directly to your mobile using the MMS facility.
On short-haul and medium-haul flights the maximum free baggage allowance for checked baggage is 20 kg per passenger. On long-haul flights (distance between departure and destination at least 3,000 miles) the free baggage allowance is also 20 kg (business class 30 kg), unless special regulations (e.g. two-piece concept ») apply. These free baggage allowances also apply to children and infants. We advise passengers not to check in any individual items of baggage weighing more than 32 kg. If the length of the trip is exactly 28 days or more, the free baggage allowance for checked baggage is 30 kg (business class 40 kg) per passenger, provided that the outbound and inbound flights were booked together under the same transaction number. If you have a topbonus Card Silver/Gold or a topbonus Service Card, your free baggage allowance is 30 kg and you can also take sports baggage weighing up to 30 kg with you without any additional charge. We will also carry one item of sports baggage up to 30 kg without any additional charge for airberlin business class passengers.

In addition you can enter your payment details and save them for the next time, making flight bookings even more convenient. These details will also be entered automatically in future once you have logged in.
You can update your profile details at any time.
You can view a summary of your booked flights, check the details of the bookings and print out the information. This applies both to current and past flight bookings.
