Cyprus Airways
Cyprus Airways Public Ltd is the national airline of Cyprus, based in Nicosia. It operates scheduled services to over 30 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and the Gulf. Its main operational base is Larnaca International Airport, due to the closure of Nicosia International Airport following the 1974 Turkish invasion. It also has a hub at Paphos International Airport.
Cyprus Airways Services
Cyprus Airways allows a free allowance of checked baggage which does not exceed 20 kgs for passengers travelling in the Economy Class and 30 kgs for passengers travelling in Business Class. Infants traveling on a 10% fare are entitled a free allowance of 10 Kgs.
To comply with health & safety requirements, Cyprus Airways has introduced a maximum weight limit for single items of hold baggage. In line with this new policy, Cyprus Airways does not accept any piece of baggage that exceeds 32kg in weight.
In case that you cannot comply with this requirement you will be asked to reduce the weight of the piece of baggage by re-packing or make alternative arrangements.
It is noted that this policy refers to single items and does not affect your overall baggage allowance, as shown on your ticket.
Hand Luggage
In the interest of comfort and safety of all our passengers, Cyprus Airways accepts one piece of cabin baggage not exceeding 115 cms (45 ins) total dimensions (height+width+depth) and 5 Kgs weight. It must be of a size and shape to allow for storage in aircraft overhead compartments, or any other authorised stowage area.
In addition to the one piece of hand luggage, customers may also carry Duty Free Articles (liquor, tobacco, perfumes), a purse, an overcoat, a small camera, or a reasonable amount of reading material.
Carriage of Pets in Cabin
For the carriage of pets in cabin the following regulations apply:
- Only cats, dogs and some species of birds up to 5 kilos may be carried in Cabin.
- Cats, dogs and birds with weight more than 5 kilos can only be carried as animals in Hold. All other type of pets irrespective of weight will be carried as cargo
- No reptiles are accepted as pets in cabin
- Pets travelling with passengers must be checked in at the ticket counter.
- The pet shall be accompanied by its owner
- The pet shall be accepted on condition that at least one empty seat is available for this purpose
