Budapest rising on the two banks of the Danube is one of the most beautiful capitals of Europe. Buda, the left bank of Danube, is founded on the hills becoming a united whole with the river. Pest, the right bank of Danube, is composed of the residential areas of wide plains.

Dohany Street Synagogue found in Budapest is the biggest Synagogue in Europe. Esztergom Basilica situated 50 km to the northeast of Budapest is the third biggest church of Europe. More than 100 spas and a great deal of medicinal baths are found in the capital. Szechenyi Medicinal Bath taking its water from two spas is the biggest one of its kind in Europe.

Balaton Lake is the biggest lake in Europe. Tisza Lake is the biggest artificial lake in the country. About 1,300 spas are found in Hungary. 300 of them are used as bath.
