Rhodes
The island of Rhodes is located at the crossroads of two major sea routes of the Mediterranean between the Aegean Sea and the coast of the Middle East. Rhodes is the largest island in the Dodecanese. Its capital city, located at its northern tip, is the capital of the Prefecture with the Medieval Town in its centre. In 1988 the Medieval Town was designated as a World Heritage City.

When to come
Every two years the International Cartoon Fair takes places for ten days in October with the participation of cartoonists from all over the world. The best are awarded prizes. Also every two years is the International Women Artists of the Mediterranean Peace Forum held in September in which women artists from all countries of the Mediterranean participate. It includes exhibitions and cultural events. The Municipality of Petaloudes From 11th - 23rd August every year takes place in Rrhodes the Panhellenic ( all Greece) Handicrafts Fair and is held in Kremasti. Many cultural events are organized in parallel with the fair.
